Research Division - Introduction

Research Division (RD) is a permanent functional structure of University Grants Commission (UGC) to manage its research support programs for higher education institutions, faculties and students. The responsibility of RD includes assistance to UGC Board and UGC Research Council for formulating policies on research support programs and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of these programs.

RD carries out its responsibilities by coordinating with and functioning also as secretariat for various entities formed for specific functions of research support programs. These entities include Research Council (RC), Research Evaluation Committee (EC), research area/discipline specific Cluster Committees (CCs) and a roaster of research experts.

RD follows UGC's 'Research, Development and Innovation Programs Implementation Guideline' (RDIPIG) and instructions from UGC Chairman and Member-Scecretary, UGC Board and Research Council for its functioning.
