Eligibility Criteria

  1. HEIs must have at least 50% full time qualified faculty members. It has to be compulsory adhered to in core subjects.
  2. In case of HEIs offering professional courses, they should meet the minimum criteria stated by the professional councils.
  3. The organizational structure of the HEIs must be explicitly expressed in schematic form depicting the Institutional Head and others representing overall responsibilities including academic responsibility, administrative responsibility, financial responsibility and examination responsibility.
  4. Executive Head and Head of Departments (HoDs) must be full time qualified faculties
  5. HEIs must have produced at least 2 batches of graduates
  6. Abiding by the rules and regulation of individual affiliating university, the HEIs must strictly follow the non-conformity of multiple affiliations within the same premise.
  7. The HEIs must formulate specific budget for the promotion and sustenance of research culture within the institution.
  8.  The minimum number of students should be 150. The number for special case may be varied according to decision of QAAC. (Not applicable to Central Departments/ Schools of Universities and the institutions running quota in specific subject).

Additional criteria for Private HEIs

  1. Institutions running on leased properties must have a plan for institutional sustainability and continuity including their own infrastructure development and commitment to implement the plan within five years.
  2. The institutions must have set aside at least 10% of its total budget for the academic/ institutional development.
