Two New HEIs Felicitated with QAA Award

University Grants Commission (UGC) awarded accreditation certificates to Sirjana College of Fine Arts and Kathmandu Model College in a ceremony held at UGC Seminar Hall on Chaitra 14, 2079.  UGC Chairperson Prof. Dr. Dev Raj Adhikari handed over the accreditation certificates to the institutions. UGC Secretary Prof. Shankar Prasad Bhandari, Former Vice Chancellors Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral, Prof. Dr. Upendra Koirala, Tribhuvan University IQAC Director, PRT Coordinators and members, authorities from accredited institutions and UGC officials attended the award ceremony.
Sirjana College of Fine Arts, a leading fine arts institution of Nepal was established in 2001. It functions as a public educational trust and runs under the prescribed curriculum of Tribhuvan University.  It offers program Bachelor in Fine Arts. The institution started the accreditation journey submitting the Letter of Intent (LOI) on June 3, 2019. Its SSR got approval on December 26, 2020.After completing a Peer Review Team (PRT) visit on 14-17th August, 2022 and based on response report received the Educational Quality Assurance and Accreditation Council (EQAAC) recommended the UGC Board to award the institution as per the decision of February 9, 2023. 
Kathmandu Model College was established in 2003. It functions as a private institution and runs  under the prescribed curriculum of Tribhuvan University. The institution started the accreditation journey submitting the Letter of Intent (LOI) on July 3, 2020. Its SSR got approval on October 11, 2020. After conducting a Peer Review Team (PRT) visit and a follow-up visit for verification on response report the EQAAC recommended the UGC Board to award the institution as per the decision of February 24, 2023.
